SHCA is once again offering a chance to test your Siberian’s instinct to pull and work alongside another dog. The Pulling Aptitude Test is a chance to test your dog’s instinct to pull and work on a team. The test consists of two parts:
Harness Trial: the judge will place a properly sized harness on the dog to assess the dog’s willingness to accept having it put on and wearing it.
Pulling Aptitude: With the dog connected beside another dog on a pulling tug line, with another dog beside the judge will evaluate the following:
Willingness to work next to another dogs (lack of aggressiveness)
How quickly the dog adjusts to the tension of having another dog working alongside,
How quickly they are able to focus on pulling and not the other dog.
Eagerness to pull when released to do so.
Each dog that passes, will receive a certificate at the time of the test on pre- entries. For same day entry, a certificate will be mailed to you.
The PAT will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2025. Exact location to be posted at the show. Cost is $10.00 for pre-entry on the SHCA store (dog’s name is needed as well) and $15.00 for same day entry if space allows. Each dog that passes will receive a certificate at the time of the test on pre- entries. For same day entries, a certificate will be mailed to you.
