WORKING PACK DOG HIKE
Come enjoy the trails of Erie Bluffs State Park for our 15th SHCA National WPD Hike, as we take a fall hike exploring one of the region’s state parks on Monday, October 15th, 2025. This year a 5-mile hike will be offered and a 10-mile option for those wanting a longer hike or working on their dog’s WPD or WPDX titles will most likely be offered as well (watch for further updates about this). The trails will accommodate the experienced hiker as well as the beginner, who might want to see what it entails in earning a WPD title for their dog. We will be hiking on former farming roads that border open fields and paths through wooded areas that lead to scenic vistas. This year’s 5-mile trek will be about 2 ½ to 3 hours in duration and will start early morning. The park is just a short ride from this year’s National host hotel.
Those participating in the 5-mile hike should be finished in time to also be able to attend the FastCAT trials.
