Siberian Husky Club of America's Approved Judges' Education Presenter Process
One of the most important responsibilities of a Parent Club is to educate judges and future judges on its Breed.  This is not a responsibility to be taken lightly.  And, in order to achieve success in Judges' Education, a Parent Club must have good materials and dynamic, knowledgeable presenters.

Basic Requirements:  To become an SHCA-approved presenter, an individual must first meet these basic requirements for activity and longevity in the Breed:

  1. Be a member in good standing of the Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc.
  2. Have documented twenty years in the Breed
  3. Either be an approved AKC breeder-judge; OR a breeder meeting the requirements set forth by AKC for judges' approval

Application Requirements:  Individuals meeting the above-listed basic requirements wishing to become SHCA-approved Presenters, must additionally meet these requirements as part of their application:

  1. View SHCA's CD-ROM on the Siberian Husky
  2. Take SHCA's Test on the Siberian Husky
  3. Agree to abide by SHCA's Presenter Guidelines

Final Approval Requirements:  During the Application Process, in order to achieve complete SHCA-approved Judges' Education Presenter status, an applicant must complete these requirements (which may be completed over a few years):

  1. Attend the SHCA's Judges' Education Study Group at the SHCA National Specialty (after 2012)
  2. Complete the SHCA Presenter Study Guide
  3. Attend an SHCA-approved Presenter Workshop (generally at a National Specialty)
  4. Participate in the SHCA's Judges' Education Study Group at a National Specialty
  5. Co-present the SHCA-Sanctioned Judges' Education Seminar and Workshop, not offered at the SHCA National Specialty, which includes peer-review

Please note that these requirements, although similar to, are more stringent than those required to become an SHCA-Approved Mentor.  This is due to the additional skills required of a Presenter, as well as the importance SHCA places on making sure the Club always offers the very best and most consistent Judges' Education Programs, regardless of the location or presenter.

For more information about these steps, please download the Presenter Process Explained, or contact the Judges' Education Chaiman, listed below.
