SHCA Membership Information

Because SHCA, Inc., believes that an applicant for membership should meet certain minimum standards, we provide our guidelines here for your general information:

The applicant must have owned a Siberian Husky for at least three years.
The applicant must have actively participated in AKC shows, obedience trials, or organized sled dog activities for at least two years.
The applicant must be willing to sign the SHCA Code of Ethics.
The applicant must be able to furnish two sponsors (not members of the same household) who are members of the SHCA and who have known him personally for at least two years.

There is an initiation fee of $20.00 and annual membership dues of $25.00 for an individual and $50.00 for a married couple.

If, at this time, you do not wish to apply for membership, we invite you to subscribe to the Newsletter and to obtain the other informative publications that the Club makes available to non-members.

Club Publications

An important Club function is the publication of the Newsletter, which is furnished to members without charge, and which is available to non-members on a subscription basis. The Newsletter features articles of both current and long-term interest, pictures of new member-owned titleholders, and regular sections devoted to show, obedience, and racing news. Non-members may obtain a one-year subscription (4 issues) by mailing a check for $35.00 ($75.00 in U.S. funds for overseas subscriptions), payable to the SHCA, Inc., to the Circulation Manager:

The Club also publishes an Annual Directory, which includes dogs that have completed championships, obedience titles, or Sled Dog degrees during the year. In addition, the Annual Directory lists SHCA members, officers and board members, winners of SHCA Specialty Shows, and includes other statistics of permanent interest.

A Referral Directory is published annually, listing by states, the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of members who have puppies or dogs for sale, or who offer stud service or boarding facilities. An online copy of the Referral Directory is available on this site.
